Iulian Barba Lata has become Dr.! Dis-locating innovation: Amphibious geographies of creative reuse and alternative value production

Innovation processes are highly volatile and defined by complex interplays of material and symbolic factors. The space-time arrangements mobilized in these processes are no exception, since innovation protocols are increasingly relying on external knowledge sources, as a new strategy to gain competitive advantage.

IMG_3867Through my research, I study how the spatiotemporal conditions of innovation processes are played out by different practices concerning the relation between centre and periphery, inclusion and exclusion. The case studies’ analysis is targeting practices located both in the Netherlands and Eastern Europe, with the objective to offer a valuable feedback for the actors involved in the process of innovation policy making.
